American Pale Ale is one of the original beer styles of the American craft beer movement. Unlike old-school IPAs, it’s not just a straightforward hop bomb with strong bitterness but rather a harmonic marriage of malt and hops character. APA was born thanks to consumers’ frustration with the beer market dominated by flavorless big-brand American Lagers and functions as an embodiment of what the craft beer revolution stands for – beer as an agricultural product, in which you can taste and feel the ingredients and the work behind them. In Jane’s Paradise, we wanted to follow this philosophy. For that, we used not only classic American hop Citra, but also Sládek, a Czech hop Sládek. The final product is an elegant modern American Pale Ale that carries an imprint of local ingredients even thanks to the use of classic Pilsner malts.

The family brewery Zichovec was founded in the eponymous village located near the town of Slaný in 2012. The project did not involve building the brewery only. The objective was the overall development of the village, so a new municipal office, a boarding house, a general store, a restaurant, a social hall, and even a chapel were built, essentially on a greenfield site. The chapel became symbolic of our brewery and was made a part of our visual identity. The shape of this little house is distinctive, and the graphic design of our label is based on it.
